European cuisine is the best source to learn gratin recipes. Today we present you the Scandinavian gratin with salmon fish honey ad dill. Enjoy
Prepare the ingredients
Cook the peeled potatoes in boiling salted water until the tip of a knife planted in between easily and then drain. It takes about 20 minutes.
Here is a raw frozen salmon fillet, I always choose the Atlantic salmon which is softer and more tender. I don’t like the Pacific one (Keta) which tastes too strong in fish and is dry … well in my opinion …
To cook it I leave it in its plastic and put it for 1 minute on each side in the microwave. For those who do not like this cooking, it should be cooked in water until it is fully cooked and a point planted in the flesh does not meet resistance.
Make Scandinavian Gratin mixture
Mash the drained and still hot potatoes with the potato masher.
Add the cooked salmon fillet and crumble it before mixing it with the potatoes.
Pour half a teaspoon of garlic powder into the appliance.
As well as 3 tablespoons full of chopped fresh dill. Here it’s frozen dill but it’s the same thing.
Add a whole egg and mix everything.
Salt to taste and give 10 turns of the pepper mill to the preparation and mix well again. We end up with a kind of fairly thick dough.
You can try the Cheese and zucchini gratin
Bake the Scandinavian gratin
Divide the preparation into two small gratin dishes. Then run a small drizzle of honey over the entire surface, but with a very light touch.
Cut the butter into 6 small pieces and distribute them over the gratin. Put in the cold start by putting the oven at 210 ° C (Th. 7) and from the moment the oven is hot allow about 6-7 minutes of additional cooking.
The gratins must be golden. Serve with a green salad flavored with herbs. It also goes very well with a cream cucumber salad.
